Obituary of Faye C. Lindholm

Faye C. (Clark) Lindholm of Lindsborg passed away January 18, at Bethany Home. She was born October 8, 1925 along with her twin sister Joy at the family farm to Carl E and Esther (Aurell) Clark.   She attended country school and was a graduate of the McPherson High School.

On August 18, 1946 she was united in marriage to Victor W. Lindholm at her family farm in New Gottland. Faye and Victor shared the joy and sorrows of life together and their home was always open to family and friends.

Faye was baptized and confirmed in the New Gottland Covenant Church and was member of the Bethany Lutheran Church where she served as Sunday school teacher and supports the Boy Scout Troop 120 along with her husband for many many years.

She lived a very active and busy life as wife, mother, sister and friend. Over the years she worked as a telephone operator, grocery store clerk, bank teller, nurses aid, physical therapy  and wellness center attendent until she was forced to retire at the age of 85. In 1944 she even went to California with her sister Joy and worked as a rivetor for six months before returning to Kansas in 1945 after WWII where she then meet the love of her life Vic working at the Dillons store in McPherson. 

Faye is survived by daughter Charlene F. Martin of Lindsborg, son Jarold W. Lindholm of Canton, brother Dick (Mary Jo) Clark of Nashville, TN, five granddaughters - Debra (Jeff) Marsh of Baldwin City, Darlene Gadson of Lindsborg, Dorene (Brian) Schultz of Olathe, Brittany (Josh) Waite of Valley Center, Jessica Lindholm of Dodge City and 12 grandchildren - Raychel and Myles Gadson, Jaiden, Jewel, Arwen and Zara Marsh, Dylan, Brandon, Dorinda and Brendan Schultz, Gabriel and Quinton Waite and numerous relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son Dan V Lindholm, nephew Brian Kilbride, sisters - Doris, Elaine, Rachel, Eleanor and Joy, brothers - Bill, Dan and Carl Jr., daughter-in-law Terry Lee Lindholm, son-in-law John W Martin and many more family and friends.

Faye  was member of the American Legion Auxilliary, Ladies Church Circle, an EMT ambulance driver, caregiver and friend to all. She loved to sew but growing up on a farm her greatest pleasure was spending time in the great outdoors enjoying nature and Sunshine. Her positive attitude and cheerful personality was a magnet and she always knew the right thing to say and do to make friends as well as strangers feel better and to make your day a little bit brighter.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Lindsborg.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faye’s family or to Bethany Home.  Memorials may be sent in care of Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
