Obituary of Virginia Lucille Charlson

Virginia Lucille Charlson, 97, of Lindsborg passed away Monday, January 8, at Bethany Home of Lindsborg, KS.  Virginia was born October 24, 1920 in Fairmont, NE to the late Nathan and Bernice Shafer. 

 

Virginia was a 1938 graduate of Lindsborg High School.  She married Lorin Leland Charlson on November 25, 1939 in Lindsborg. Virginia was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

 

Survivors include her sons: Ron (Pat) Charlson of Los Lunas, NM, Duane Charlson of Maize, KS, and Del (Mary) Charlson of Salina, KS; as well as 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.   

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lorin; sisters, Shirley Hill, Margaret Jean Grant, and Vivian Johnson; and grandsons, Kenneth Charlson, Terry Richardson, and Scott Hinkle.

 

Visitation will be from 5pm-7pm, Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Christians Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 15 at Bethany Home Chapel, 321 S. Chestnut St., Lindsborg, KS.  Burial will be in Sandia Memory Garden Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Home, Bethany Lutheran Church, or to Kindred Hospice.  Memorials may be sent in care of Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
