Obituary of Violet Katherine Linne
Violet Katherine (Erickson) Linne, 92, of Lindsborg, passed away May 8, 2017.
She was born March 26, 1925, the daughter of Oscar and Freda (Leucht) Erickson in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Violet came to know the Lord early in life and dedicated her life to be in service to others. On November 25, 1943, Violet was united in marriage to Dr. H. Allison Linne in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. In the years that followed, Violet worked alongside her husband, an ELCA Pastor, living in states from New York to California and many in between. Violet’s ministry centered on music as she shared her talents as a soloist, a fine pianist and a talented organist. Violet was also active in the Women of the ELCA, Women’s Aglow, the Order of St. Luke, and other Christian organizations. In 1989 Violet and her husband moved to Lindsborg, having known the community since the 1960 when several daughters attended Bethany. Shortly after their arrival in Lindsborg, Violet’s husband passed into eternity. Violet stayed in the Lindsborg community, moving to the Bethany Home Cottages in 1992 where she resided until April 2017 when she moved into the Bethany Home for rehabilitation for a broken bone. Violet was an active member of the Lindsborg community through her involvement in the Senior Church Workers group, Messiah Lutheran Church women’s circles, Bible Study groups and volunteer work at the Bethany Home where she served on the Altar Guild, guardian of the Happy Cart, lay visitor, soloist at chapel and more. Violet also shared her musical talent and devotion for the Lord in many places in Lindsborg and the surrounding area throughout the years.
