Obituary of Steven Brian Johnson

Steven Brian Johnson was born February 24, 1966 in Lindsborg to Marlin and Elma Marie (Rasmusson) Johnson. He passed away October 2, 2016. Steve was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church. He attended Lindsborg schools, where he learned to play the trombone and enjoyed participating in school bands. After graduating from Lindsborg High School in 1984, Steve worked for a few years then attended Kansas State University graduating with a degree in communications in 1991. Steve lived and worked in Manhattan until moving to McPherson in 2015. The family wishes to thank Steve’s neighbors and friends for the love and support given to him. Steve loved music and was always happy to share his collection of recordings with friends. He was a huge K-State, KC Chiefs, and Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed cooking and watching the games with his neighbors and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Mim, and brother Mark of Lindsborg, sister Rebecca and husband Kelly McNichols of Burr Oak, and nephew and niece, Callum and Grace McNichols. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 6, at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg. Burial will be Friday, October 7, at 9:30am at Smoky Hill Cemetery Lindsborg, with a Memorial Service following at 11:00am at Bethany Lutheran Church, Lindsborg.
