I am so sad to hear this. I remember Steve as the little annoying brother of Becky. I just can't imagine losing a brother or child. Thoughts and prayers with Mim, Becky, and Mark.

I am so sorry to hear about Steve's Passing. During the times i knew him, he loved his camero's and his HUGE music colletion. One year he decided to redo his bar in his manhattan home, i helped him with that, and he put tiles in of KSU!!! Many Prayers for the family.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Steves passing . He was a great guy with a heart of gold . I have a little story I need to share . Years ago after we were out of high school, a bunch of us went out and partied . Steve decided he wanted his ear pierced . So we decided to head over to my house to do this procedure. After many tries we finally got the needle to go through his ear . Poor Steve , I kept asking him if it hurt and he just smiled and said not to bad . It was actually pretty scary as I had never pierced anyone's ear before . Any how , after we got the needle in his ear we realized we didn't have a earring to put in his ear . I was wearing my moms diamond earrings at the time . I told Steve I would let him use one untill he could get a earring but he had to promise me he would give it back as it was my moms . Steve promised . After that , Steve left for college and we lost contact . I hadn't seen him for 7 years . I happened to pull into Leroys station to get gas one day and I hear a familiar voice ...Hey Colleen how have you been ? . It was Steve . During those 7 years my moms health took a turn for the worst and I lost her . However I still had her diamond earring in my ear . I said to Steve ... Steve remember that diamond earring that I let you use ? Steve said ....yes I do , I promised I would give it back to you . I was like , oh my God , do you still have it ? ....It was then that he reached up, And took it out of his ear and handed it to me . He said he never took it out . I had both of my moms earrings again , they have sentimental value now . Just like my story . Steve was a great guy , anyone who knew him knew he had a heart of gold . My condolences go out to Steves family and may the Angels wrap their wings around you all to comfort you and ease your pain through this so called journey we call life . Steve , you will be missed but never forgotten . Fly high with those new wings and the Angels buddy and we will see you again someday in heaven ❤️❤️

My husband, Jim Malm, has known Steve....well...forever. When I met Jim and we began to date, oh, about twelve years ago, one of the very fun things about getting to know Jim was getting to know Steve through Jim's famous "Steve Johnson" stories. Many were funny, some were touching, all were memorable. There were several Steve-isms that I appropriated...and just this past Tuesday, before we heard that Steve had passed, I was talking to a friend and, in telling my own story, referenced Steve, saying, "To quote my husband's friend, Steve Johnson...."
Steve made a difference in Jim's life. The stories will be retold, as stories are, and we will still laugh and now cry a little, too, but we will remember.
Rest well, Mr. Chicken Socks.
Love from Jim and Sheila

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Although I never knew your son, I am sure because you were his Mom, he was a good person and his loss is immeasurable. Sending prayers for you and your family.

Dear Mim and family... My deepest condolences, I had no idea Steven was living in town, I am so sorry. My greatest memory of Steven is at show and tell in grade school, can't remember which year, but almost thinking it was for an invention. He had made a house for a mouse out of cardboard, and had put a christmas light bulb thru the top and plugged it in for lighting in the house and little cut out windows. He was always good to me.. Take good care- Cindy
