Kris, Emily, William, Jon, Chiemi & Ellen,
I am devastated for you for your sudden loss. There is only solace in seeing how many lives Carl has impacted so positively as he did mine. So accepting of so many. Assisting thru the terrible times & sharing in the joys. Giving strength to others. Always seeking knowledge and sharing. I am now thinking of how he always knew what to say & I am at a loss for words at this time. I loved him & will miss him terribly. Kris I truly love you like a sister. You have are also so precious to so many. I wish I could be there in this time of sorrow. I will be with you in spirit & will hopefully see you soon. Our deepest sympathy at your loss. Carl was a wonderful person and a faithful servant of the Lord. May the God of Consolation be with you during these days and always. Carl will be remembered for his smile, his great love for his family, and his love of God. May the God of all Hope wrap his loving arms around you as you take comfort in knowing that Carl now wears the crown of righteousness which was reserved just for him.

What a special guy! Carl enjoyed showing us around his Chicago and, more recently, around Lindsborg. He loved Lindsborg and Bethany College. We enjoyed his knowledge and sense of humor. We will miss you dear brother-in-law.

In addition to our Facebook friendship I had the pleasure of spending time with Carl on several occasions and hearing him preach one morning. He was a caring, loving, passionate man who willingly imparted his knowledge and principles to his friends and students. The community and college has lost a great teacher and humanitarian. His family has lost a loving husband, father and brother. My prayers for our God of all comfort to give you peace are with you.

He was an amazing professor and made my years at Bethany a lot easier than they could have been. He had patience and understanding and a way of relating to you that you felt as though you knew him forever. Great man! Praying for all who knew him and to know him was to love him.
