John Murphy, 73, of Lindsborg, passed away January 9, 2015.
He was born January 21, 1941 in Peoria, IL., the son of Edgar and Violet(Sutton) Murphy. On September 1, 1963, he was united in marriage to Judith R. Eissfeldt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Barbara Hartman.
John graduated from Concordia College preparatory school in Milwaukee, WI., University of Illinois, Washington University-St. Louis, and Kansas State University with a PhD. He was a retired professor at Bethany College, Lindsborg.
He leaves behind loved ones, including his wife, Judy, two daughters, Eleanor Murphy, Lois Ann Murphy, two grandchildren and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lindsborg.
Memorials may be designated for the Bethany College in care of Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, PO Box 386, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
