Cy will be missed thank you for all the wisdom you instilled in my mind and all the good memories you gave me. All the loads of tree limbs we hauled to the river in that old black Dodge.
Miss you CY

I will miss Cy and all his fascinating stories. I feel very blessed that I got to know Cy through Tim and the Ulmen Family. I will treasure the 2021 Assaria Fall Festival we just went to with Cy on September 25th. That day he gave me a matching red hat and we had a heart to heart talk while we waited for the others to join us for lunch. He out of the blue told me ..."you know what Kelly?... I sure have lived a very blessed life!". I smiled and told him that I felt equally blessed to be part of it. He told me how Tim always came home from school, did all his homework, and then he would go help the neighbors crop their fields. He said he had the best kids and grandkids. We talked about how cute Quincy was and how they both shared their love of trains. He was very talkative that day, and I listened. It melted my heart listening to him reflect on his life. Everytime I hear a train now, I will think of my friend Cy. Rest in peace my friend. I will keep my promise and watch over your family. We will talk about you and smile. Your smile will shine on in your loved ones.
Love, Kelly Sue

Cy has been my friend for many years. Growing up in Assaria and going to ALC, Cy encouraged me to sing many songs at the church when I was in HS and college. Then I went to nursing school and I cared for Barb when she had cancer. When Barb passed, Cy and I started writing to each other. For nearly 15 years we’ve been penpals while I moved from state to state. He’d always ask about the weather, how my dog Hank was doing, and my nursing career. He loved writing about his garden, music, ALC, weather, and his family. Cy was a special soul to all who knew him and will remain a treasured friend of mine. I know after meeting Jesus, Cy would look for Barb’s warm embrace. He loved and missed her more than anything in the world.

So sorry to hear of Cy's passing. We lived in Assaria in the 70's. Cy and Barbara came to our Bible study. He was a true Christian and brought many discussions to share with us. May God bless the family in this time of sorrow.
