Obituary of Lois Irene Spitznagel

Lois Irene Spitznagel, 88, of Rocklin, CA, formerly of Lindsborg, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021. Lois was born June 2, 1932 in Iowa to the late Edvin and Bonnie (Embree) Carlson.
Lois was married to Gerald L. Spitznagel, July 12, 1953 in Stanton, Iowa. Both Lois and Jerry were educators in Iowa and California. They were married for 58 years, and they had two children, James and Shari, as well as 4 grandchildren.
Lois was an active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church during her time in Lindsborg. She was a member of the Assimilation Committee, and she enjoyed visiting new church members with her husband, Jerry. After Jerry’s passing, Lois spent a number of years helping in the “His Kids” program at the church enriching the lives of the children of the community.
Survivors include her son: James Spitznagel, and his wife, Annamarie, of Roseville, CA; and grandchildren: Michael and Kristin Spitznagel, Melissa Northcutt and Jennifer Justice.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jerry; and daughter: Shari Dreher.
Lois was a loving Mother and Grandmother who cared deeply about others and was loved by many.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 28 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 28 at Elmwood Cemetery, Wells Fargo Road, Lindsborg, with Pastor Jeff Waugh officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to TACOL Thrift Shop of Linsdborg. Memorials may be sent in care of Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
