Anita M. Nelson passed away peacefully at Bethany Home, Lindsborg, KS on December 3rd, 2020 on her 85th birthday. She had resided at Bethany Home just shy of five years bringing joy to those around her. She was a ‘bright light’ to many. Anita was born on December 3rd, 1935 to Myrtle and Clarence Finney. She grew up south of Lindsborg on a farm. As a little girl she was vivacious, full of energy and loved playing outdoors with her sister Rosie & brother Ray. She loved music and had a gift of playing the piano throughout her days at Lindsborg High School and throughout her life. She married Ermal Nelson, June 24th, 1953. They lived northwest of Lindsborg in the Falun community on a farm and eventually had three children, Greg, Geri & Julie. They farmed for nearly 50 years and many great memories were made while on the farm. Anita loved working for the Farmers & Ranchers Livestock Auction and then later the Soil Conservation Service in Salina, KS. She was involved in many community & church activities throughout her life and always had a strong faith in Jesus and loved family and friends. Anita is survived by her husband Ermal of Lindsborg; Julie Nelson of Lindsborg; Anita Daniel of Lindsborg; Greg, Margaret & Isabella Nelson, Manhattan, KS; Joel & Geri Bachman, Overland Park, KS; Justin & Kristin Hammond, Southside, TN; Brandon & Sophia Jones, Manhattan, KS; great grandchildren Ellie, Lilah, Adaline, Jack & Jed; sister-in-law Betty Finney, Lindsborg; Colin & Rhonda Finney, Lindsborg; Barry Finney & Christy and great, great niece Autumn, Little Rock, AR. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 8th at 2:00 p.m., Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg, KS. Memorials may be made to Bethany Home, 321 N. Chestnut, Lindsborg, KS 67456. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the staff at Bethany Home.
