Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ruth Eleanor Trued, 92, of Lindborg, passed away on March 8th, 2020, at Bethany Home, in Lindsborg, Kansas.
Ruth was born February 14, 1928, in Ruleton, Kansas, the seventh of eleven children to the late Seth and Martha Duell. Ruth graduated from Sherman Community High School in 1946, and received a BM in Music Education from Bethany College in 1950. She was married to the late Reverend Donald Edward Trued on June 1, 1953, in Goodland, Kansas.
Ruth had a passion for music and always had a song in her heart. She worked as a music teacher, and served as a missionary in Tanzania, Africa, from 1955 to 1962. After returning to the United States, she settled in Glen Rock, New Jersey, where she enjoyed being a full time mother to her children and a homemaker for several years prior to returning to employment as a music teacher and working in real estate. In 1982, she moved to Olathe, Kansas, and then in 1985 to Lindsborg, Kansas.
She enjoyed partaking in Lindsborg activities. Her faith for her Lord caused Ruth’s life to be marked by service to others; Ruth was president and member of the Retired Church Worker and Meals on Wheels, volunteered with the Lindsborg Hospital auxiliary, and served as a weekday church schoolteacher for over 20 years. She participated in the Bethany College Messiah Music Festival for over 20 years. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Donald Edward Trued.
Ruth is survived by brother: Norman (Harriet) Duell of Holyoke, Colorado; sister: Rachel (Frank) Purvis of Lawrence, Kansas; daughter: Kathy and Al Salzman, and granddaughter Kaleigh of Falun; son: Steven (Michelle) Trued of Overland Park, and grandsons Steel (Kristen), Cole, Grant, and Weston; and great grandson: Crew.
