Lois Laurine James, 91, of Mentor passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at her home in Mentor. Lois was born June 4, 1928 in Lincoln, KS to the late William and Myreta (Schmidt) Oetting. She married Max O.James on March 30, 1952 at Assaria Lutheran Church.
Lois was the owner and operator of Friendly Valley Flowers, in Mentor for many years.
She is survived by her daughter: Peggy Forsberg (Gene) of Valley Falls, KS; and sons: David James of Olathe, KS, and Paul James (Patricia) of Burleson, TX; brother: William Kent Oetting (Lynn), of Wichita, KS; as well as 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Max; daughter-in-law: Kristine James; and grandson: Luke Forsberg.
The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, March 12 at Assaria Lutheran Church, 124 W 1st St, Assaria, KS with Pastor Dean Apel officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Thursday.
Memorials may be made to the church, or to Salina Animal Services. Memorials may be sent in care of Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
