Obituary of Ruth Eloise Oriez

Ruth Eloise Oriez, 88, of Lindsborg passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at her home. Ruth was born September 25, 1931 in Scott City, KS to the late Hillard Grant and Ruth Mae (Wallace) Allen. Ruth was a lifelong Lindsborg resident and the wife of the late Orville F. Oriez. She was a member of the Geneseo United Methodist Church and a past member of the Rebecca Lodge. She had been active with the Boy Scouts of America, as well as a Girl Scout troop leader. Ruth was proud of her 25 year employment as a greeter at Sam’s Club in Salina. Ruth loved her family above all else, and was especially fond of spending time with her great granddaughter Avery. Ruth loved McDonald’s coffee and started many of her days with it. She cheered for Denver Bronco’s football and enjoyed reading and sewing. She is survived by sons: Donald E. Oriez (Jonna) of Lindsborg, KS and Bradley R. Oriez of Salina, KS; daughter: Roxanne Banz (Derrald) of Lindsborg, KS; three siblings; grandchildren: Austin, Andrew, and Amanda; and great grandchildren: Avery Stach, Piper, Peyton, Elliott, and Cerilene. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Orville; five brothers; one sister; son-in-law: David Stach; and daughter-in-law: Julia Oriez. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 21 at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS.
