Obituary of Laurel Lee Patrick

Laurel Lee Patrick, 75, of Marquette passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Riverview Estates in Marquette, KS. Laurel was born March 24, 1944 on the family farm, north of Marquette, to the late Johan Oscar and Rosa Seattle (Hudson) Patrick.
He was confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church, where he taught Sunday school, served on church council, and sang in the choir for over 40 years. Laurel graduated from Marquette High School and McPherson College. On April 10, 1965 he was united in marriage to Donna Howard. They settled on the family farm and ranch until retiring and moving into town.
Besides being active in his church, Laurel served on the school board, the Lindsborg Community Health Care Foundation. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and friends, and traveling.
He is survived by his wife: Donna Jean, daughters: Rebecca Jo Evans (John) of Las Vegas, NV and Ann Marie Patrick-Hernandez of Miami, FL; son: Steven Thomas Patrick (Jennifer) of Lindsborg, KS; sister: Patricia Rorabach; brothers: Jesse Patrick and Duane Patrick; as well as 5 grandchildren.
Laurel is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Rose Richards and Joyce Walker; and brother: John Patrick.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Elim Lutheran Church, 403 N Lincoln St, Marquette, with Pastor Amy Kay Pavlovich, officiating.
