Obituary of Kathie Elizabeth Zarnes

Kathie Elizabeth Zarnes, 32, of Lindsborg died Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Salina Regional Health Center.  Kathie was born January 28, 1987 in Salina, to Scott W and Sharon L. (Hodges) Spohn.  She married Michael Zarnes in June  2019 at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. 

Kathie was a college graduate.  She worked as a home care LPN.  Kathie was a member of the Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson.  Kathie loved to ice skate and to be in the Rocky Mountains.  She was a devoted mother and her kids were the most important thing in her life.

She is survived by her husband: Michael Zarnes; father: Scott W. Spohn; mother: Sharon L. Spohn; daughter: Aspen Leighanne Spohn; sons: Brenton Scott Spohn and Gabriel Ethan Dean Martin; sister: Cristy Hollingsworth (Chris); maternal grandparents, Charla And Wendell Waggoner and Alan and Joanne Hodges; god parents: Phil and Lois McClanahan; as well as 2 uncles, 4 aunts, and many cousins and extended family members.

Kathie is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents.

Cremation has been chosen.  A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 1, at Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson.
