Obituary of Dean Marcus Ringquist
Dean Marcus Ringquist, 91, of Wichita died Sunday, May 26, 2019 at his home in Wichita. Dean was born July 14, 1927 in Mentor, KS to the late Marcus Dean and Alice E. (Swensson) Ringquist. He married Alice Elaine Woddell July 5, 1965 in Beloit, KS.
He is survived by his daughter: Nadine Hopp (Lyle) of Marshall, TX; sons: Mark Alft (Jean) of Wichita, KS, and Bryan Alft of Lewisville, TX; sister: Lucille Gaskin, of South Carolina; as well as 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother: Dale Ringquist, and sister: Virginia Barr.
Dean’s early work carrier was as a grain miller at the Gooch Feed Mill in Salina, KS. After that he moved into the oil industry as an oil field pumper in the Galva, KS area. Upon his “retirement” he started a lawn care business in Lindsborg, KS. Dean and wife Alice moved from Lindsborg, KS to Wichita, KS where they spent their final years.
The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Friday, May 31 at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS with Chris Bisset officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.
