Obituary of Doris Louise Bendel
Doris Louise was born on November 11, 1919 to Minnie Maye (Temple) and Guy DeForest Livingston in rural Rice County, Kansas. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1937.
On January 23, 1938, she married A.W. (Tony) Bendel in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. She was a homemaker and worked as a clerk in retail clothing and at the Stafford County Treasurer’s office. Doris was a member of the Geneseo American Legion Auxiliary and attended the Methodist church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 45 years. She is survived by two daughters – Janice Louise Welch of Nashville, Tennessee and Marcia Kay Killingsworth and her husband Tim of Geneseo, Kansas. Also four grandchildren – Wendy Pittmon of Georgetown, Kentucky, Tony Killingsworth of McPherson, Kansas, Traci Steinert and her husband Cory of Midlothian, Texas and Tara Killingsworth of Geneseo, Kansas; four great grandchildren – Logan and Brooke Pittmon of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Hadley and Hudson Steinert of Midlothian, Texas.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Geneseo Cemetery, Geneseo, KS, with Pastor Amy Pavlovich officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Geneseo American Legion Post# 241 Auxiliary. Memorials may be sent in care of Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 North Washington St., Lindsborg, KS 67456
