Obituary of Avis Nora Palmquist
Avis Nora Palmquist, 94, of Lindsborg, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at Bethany Home.. Avis was born May 12, 1924 in Beverly, KS to the late Lloyd S. and Myrtle (Crider) Morton. She was the widow of Charles Palmquist.
Avis worked as a music teacher in Falun and Smolan. She also enjoyed the 10 years she spent as a school bus driver in her local school district.
Survivors include her son: Steven Palmquist (Betty; daughter: Susan Rhoads; grandchildren Matthew Palmquist (Jerri), Lucas Palmquist (Dawn), Jonathan Rhoads (April), and Jessica Rhoads-Huot (Shaun); as well as 7 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter: Elizabeth Christine Palmquist; brother: Earl “Bill” Morton; and sister: Evelyn “Babe” Engstrom.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 16 at Bethany Home Chapel, 321 N. Chestnut St., Lindsborg, KS with Chaplain Phillip Hett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Freemount Cemetery. Memorials may be sent in care of Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
