Obituary of Janice Eileen Eldredge

     Janice Eileen Spradley Eldredge was born on December 5, 1939 in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Dorothy Pabst and Claud Spradley. She was the 7th of 9 children. Janice passed away on February 24, 2019 with her son Todd by her side. She was 79 years old.

      She spent her childhood years in Sterling and Hebron Nebraska. She graduated from Hebron High School in 1958. After graduating High School, she attended Commercial Extension School of Business in Omaha, Nebraska.

      She spent most of her adult life working as a certified medication aide. She worked with the elderly and the mentally and physically challenged.

      Janice worked at the Martin Luther Home in Beatrice, Nebraska. She also worked at nursing homes in Hebron Nebraska, Wichita Kansas and Belleville Kansas. After working several years at the Belleville Health Care Center in Belleville, Kansas, she opened a Day Care Center in her home. It was known as 3 T’s and J Daycare.

      Janice moved to Lindsborg, Kansas, to be closer to her 3 sons. She worked at Multi Community Diversified Services Inc., in Lindsborg, Kansas. She worked with Developmentally Disabled and Special Needs clients.

      Reading was one of her main hobbies next to drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a die hard Kansas City Royals fan, kept her own scorebook of their games. That way when one of the sisters called and weren’t correct about the score, she could correct them. She also enjoyed watching tennis. So if you called her during ball games or tennis matches it was a short conversation or mom just wouldn’t answer.

      Janice had her sweet moments but stand back if you crossed her. She could cuss like a sailor, especially at her sons mainly Todd.

      Janice was preceded in death by her parents Claud and Dorothy Spradley. Her brother John, Larry and Russell. Her sisters Donita and Fern. Her son Terry Spradley. She is survived by sons Timothy and Todd. Her daughter in law Melinda. Grandchildren Antoinette (Natalie)Gibson, Austin Eldredge, Alyssa Eldredge, Colten Eldredge and great grandchild Matthew Gibson Jr.

    Cremation has been chosen.  A Celebration of Life and visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, on Saturday, March 9 at Crick-Chrisitans Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg.
