Obituary of LouJean K. "Kathy" Palmquist

LouJean K. “Kathy” Palmquist, 87, of Lindsborg, passed away Tuesday, October 23, at Lindsborg Community Hospital.  Kathy was born August 21, 1931 in Newton, KS to the late Kenneth L. and Marthalene (Filley) McGill. 

 

She was the widow of Jerome Palmquist.  Kathy earned a Bachelor’s Degree from McPherson College.  She worked in many bookkeeping and administrative jobs as well as owning and operating a motel.

 

Kathy is survived by daughters: Martha Oleen of Lindsborg, KS, Jerrine (Clair) Oleen of Lindsborg, KS; son: Michael (Melanie) Palmquist of Belleville, KS; as well as 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Edward E. McGill.

 

Visitation will be Sunday, October 28 from 5 p.m.-7p.m.at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS.

 

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 29 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lindsborg, KS with Pastor Nancy Crowl officiating.  Burial will be in Freemount Lutheran Cemetery, following the funeral.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or to Bethany Home Assisted Living. Memorials may be sent in care of Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
