I was lucky enough to see Jay's collection of wooden toys, me being a school bus driver at the time, was smitten by the bus. I (for the life of me) could not talk him out of that bus! I offered pies, cookies, money... nope, he was not ready to give it up. My husband and I were his neighbors to the West for several years. He was a very friendly fella and I feel blessed to have known him! I am sorry to hear of his passing. RIP Jay.

One of my great pleasures as a caregiver at Bethany Homes was dropping in to talk with Jay. I admired his kindness and gentle spirit during his time in my care.

I enjoyed getting to know Jay when he would come to the Senior Center for coffee after he visited friends at Bethany Home. For coffee time he only wanted Wilma Larson's sugar cookies. There was an ice cream bucket of them in the fridge just for him. It was always a joy for his weekly visits.

Dear Sue and Gary, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I know you were expecting this but it is still difficult to lose a loved one. He certainly lived his life to the fullest. God Bless,
Jim
