Obituary of Patricia Ann Anderson
Patricia Ann “Pat” Anderson, 82, of Salina passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at Lindsborg Community Hospital. Patricia was born March 9, 1936 in Salina, KS to the late John Franklin and Faith A. (Swanson) Stafford.
Pat and her family moved to Denver, Colorado when she was very young. After the sixth grade, her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from North Phoenix High School in 1954. Pat went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Bethany College in 1958 in Applied Piano. She later a earned Master’s degree in Piano Performance from Wichita State University. Pat had her own piano studio before joining the faculty at Butler County Community College, where she taught and played with the Butler County Headliners. She also served as the organist at every church that she and her family belonged to. She had to retire from playing organ at Salemsborg Lutheran Church, due to her health. Pat was a member of both the Kansas Music Educators Association and the Wichita Area Piano Teachers League.
Pat married John R. Anderson, on July 20, 1957 in Denver, Colorado. They had 4 children, Marc, Julie Ann, John, and Eric. Pat had many loves in her life. She loved her family, her Lord, her church, and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband: John, of the home; daughter: Julie Ann Aeschliman of Lindsborg, KS; sons: Marc (Anne) Anderson of Lindsborg, KS, John (Lori) Anderson of Winnipeg, Canada, and Eric (Stacy) Anderson of Ellsworth, KS; grandchildren: Justin, Chelsea, Samantha, Tyler, Alyssa, Tori, Brendan, Kaelyn, Cody, and Makenna; great grandchildren, Liam and Reid; and numerous extended family members.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barbara Irick.
Visitation will be Friday, May 11 from 5-7PM at Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, May 12 at Salemsborg Lutheran Church, 3831 W Salemsborg Rd, Smolan, KS with Pastor Amy Truhe officiating. Private interment will take place prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Bethany College, Salemsborg Lutheran Church Choir and Bell Choir, or St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital. Memorials may be sent in care of Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
