Fred D. Cox, Jr.,83, of Assaria died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Bethany Home in Lindsborg.  Fred was born October 1, 1934 in Salina, KS to the late Fred D. Cox, Sr. and Amelia (Dipple) Cox.

 

Fred was a lifelong farmer and stockman. He married Doris C. Wardell on October 27, 1957 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Lindsborg. 

 

He is survived by his wife: Doris; daughters: Julie (Rick) Martin of Lindsborg, KS, and Connie (Kermit) Dorf of Assaria, KS; sister: Linda (Jim) Martin of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: Kyle (Molly) Martin, Eric (Kristin) Martin, and Haley (Brandon) Schmitz; great-grandchildren: Kasyn, Kruze, and Emori; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

 

Fred is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Luella Hilston.

 

Visitation, with family present, will be Sunday, May 6 from 5-7PM at Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS.

 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Monday, May 7 at Assaria Lutheran Church, 124 W 1st St, Assaria, KS with Pastor Laura Smith officiating.  Private family burial will precede the funeral services.

 

Memorials may be made to Assaria Lutheran Church, Bethany Home, or Kindred Hospice. Memorials may be sent in care of Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
