Earlier this year my daughter's team played in a Lindsborg MAYB basketball tourney, and our games were held in Marquette. We chose to eat lunch at the Soda Fountain and during our lunch we spent some time visiting with a local gentleman, enjoying his coffee. I personally had such a good time, and felt like we had made a friend that day. We introduced ourselves as we left, and I do remember the name Mayfield, and these stories sound familiar so I know that was his son I visited with (which one?? I'm sorry, I'm not sure..it's been a while!) He was so very knowledgeable. There was not one subject you could bring up that he didn't know anything about, and if he reads this, I'm certain he will remember visiting with Kristi and Carly Lang from Hays that day.
