Obituary of Marvin E Johnson
Marvin E. Johnson, 84, of Lindsborg died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Marvin was born May 10, 1933 in New Gottland Township, to the late Oscar L. and Nannie C. (Patrick) Johnson
Marvin was married to Elizabeth Morris on August 6, 1965 in Cokato, Minnesota. He was a school teacher and U.S. Army Veteran. Marvin was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where he tended the grounds for many years, as well as serving on both the property and archives committee. Additionally, he was a member of American Legion Post #140 in Lindsborg, the Rod and Gun Club, the Lindsborg Historical Society, and the American Scandinavian Association.
Survivors include his wife: Elizabeth, sons: Chris (Donna) Johnson of Gladstone, MO, and Tim (Melissa) Johnson of Lee's Summit, MO; grandchildren, Anneka, Nate, Blake, Bryton, Levi, and Hendrix, as well as many extended family members.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elmer, Oscar L. Jr., Kenneth, and Walter Johnson; and sisters, Elsie Johnson and Doris Stump.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Monday, November 13 at Bethany Lutheran Church, with Pastor Loren Mai officiating. Marvin has chosen cremation and an inurnment and committal services will be held for family and close friends at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Smoky Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, from 10:00 am until the time of the memorial service.
