It was my pleasure to have known John during our time together while serving in the Navy. We served together both in Pensacola, Fla. and Naples, Italy. A few years ago I visited John while on a business trip in KC. He was proud to show me the pictures of his wonderful family - all in uniform! He is sorely missed! God Bless!

I am so sorry for your loss. The death of a love one can be extremely difficult to cope with. Many have found comfort in the many promises found in God's word the bible. Acts 24:15 has special meaning for many. There it speaks about the resurrection. By means of the resurrection our loving Creator, Jehovah God, will restore life back to those sleeping in death as promised (Titus1:2). Please embrace this wonderful promise of God during this difficult time.

Sorry to hear of John's passing. I was a student of his at the Kansas College of Technology from 1988-1990 as a Computer Information Systems major. John was well known for being exceptionally well organized and detail-oriented. Great traits for students especially in the Information Technology field. And he required everyone to type his class notes and turn them in at the end of the semester. It worked well in learning the class material, learning word-processing software, the English, language, etc. He was a very good man as well.
What I'll remember best is when I was taking his Assembly Language course in the Spring of 1990, my final semester. Unknown to myself and John at the time was that my eyesight was going downhill. I was sitting in the front row and had trouble reading what he was writing on the chalkboard. I kept asking John what he was writing. He began to think I was being critical of his writing. He pulled a chair next to his desk and asked me to sit in it. I did. Then I had no trouble reading what he was writing.
After class we discussed what had happened and he told me that I needed to see an eye doctor. I agreed. I scheduled an appointment with an Ophthalmologist. In about a month I was wearing glasses, could sit in the back of the room, and read virtually anyone's writing without a problem. Thanks John! I'll forever be grateful. You will be missed.

A man I will never forget. He drilled the Pretty Prairie band into a machine of excellence, not seen anywhere else. A 1 rating every place, every year. Composer and arranger, he was a status at PPHS. One of my favorites in high school, his bands were incredible and we knew it. He worked us that hard to absolute perfection. He also made a reel-to-reel tape of us in 1978 for an album that was never made. Do you Sam or Julie know where that tape is, so I could make a CD out of it? Brian Bay, PPHS 1979, Salina.

My heart goes out to you Julie and Sam. Your parents were wonderful people and so much a part of our lives when we were in college. Larry then worked with your dad at KTI for awhile after we moved to Salina. We shared some wonderful times and will never forget them. But I know you are happy that they are together again.

I was a student in the late 1990s at K-State Salina and I was fortunate to have Mr. Francisco as one of my instructors. After accepting a job here on the Manhattan campus, I reached out to him on occasion to say HI and thanks for his continued support, both during and after my schooling.
I am saddened to hear of his passing, however, we will all meet together again some day.
My condolences to the family.

My prayers go out to the family as I'm saddened to hear about Mr. Francisco. He gave me the ability to play my flute which I still do today. I also took piano lessons from Mrs. Francisco when they lived in Pretty Prairie. We lived on the same block and I remember babysitting Sam and Julie. Such a wonderful family! Blessings to you all and peace be with you!

Dear Sam & Julie,
Although you & your parents were in Oakley for only 2 short years, your folks did an amazing job with the music program in Oakley, and we have never forgotten that. Sadly, it was never the same after they left, but our 2 sons, Jim & Stephen, were blessed to have had them as their instructors.
We were saddened to learn of your mother's death 2 years ago, and now to read that your dad has passed, as well - but the wonderful tribute in his obituary is a testimony to your family's deep and abiding faith in our Lord Jesus and in the peace He gives in the face of the final enemy, death.
We send our deepest sympathy to you and your dear children.
Doug & Kathy Spencer
