Obituary of William R. Hawkinson

William R. “Bill”  Hawkinson, 67, of Lindsborg passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Salina Regional Health Center.  William was born July 26, 1950 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Warren W. Hawkinson and Blanche (Andrews) Spilman.

He was a retired master carpenter at Kansas State University for 25 years.  Bill was an avid outdoorsman.  He had a special love for fishing and would go whenever he could.

Survivors include his mother, Blanche Spilman and her husband, Harold Montgomery; sons: Marshall Hawkinson of Lindsborg, KS, and Shea G Hawkinson of Laurel, MD;  sisters: Marlene (Bob) Brazell of McPherson, KS, and Linda (Terry) McBurney of Lindsborg, KS; brother: Daniel (Katherine) Hawkinson of Lindsborg, KS;  as well as grandchildren Kylee and Alexander.

Visitation will be Friday, August 11, from 5-7 pm at Christians Funeral Home, 103 North Washington St, Lindsborg.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, at Christians Funeral Home.

Private family interment will follow at Smoky Hill Cemetery, rural Lindsborg.
