Mrs. Geiman,
I don't know if you will remember me or not. I was both Dean and Gene's room mate at Bethany in our sophomore year. I know that "good by's" are hard to say. I lost my 20 year old son 30 years ago and I still miss him
I currently live in Ft Smith, Ark and retired from an insurance company. I try to read the McPherson paper on line from time to time and this is how I found out about Dean's death.
After I left Bethany, I went to K-State and after that I was in the Army for a while and then to the insurance company.

So very sorry for your loss. I remember Mr. Geiman when he taught my class at Canton Grade school. He was fair, and LOVED making "themes" punishment for misbehaving. I learned a lot from writing those themes!! Just proves that not all punishment is equal. And I became a fairly decent writer as well. I'm sure he will be missed a great deal.

Peggy and family,
My very first memories of childhood friends are of Dean and Gene on the Geiman farm south of Windom. Those shetland ponies headed for the clothesline were my first exposure to horse behavior. Some of those experiences served me well over the years. Although only one year older, Dean was always somewhat a role model for me. The Geiman family was very special to my parents. Our families shared many memorable times. My sympathy in your loss. We have lost a very good man.

I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Dean was such a great man! I find myself with a huge smile thinking of all the times we sat in a circle at family gatherings and he told joke after joke.
