Please share a memory of Wade to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wade Thomas Allton, 23, of Marquette, passed away March 5, 2017.
He was born April 21, 1993 in Salina, KS to Kevin and Deborah (Thomas) Allton.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lois and Elmer Allton.
Wade is survived by his son; Lucas Allton and Lucas’ mother, Katie Orr of Marquette, parents; Kevin and Debbie Allton of Smolan, brother; Darous Allton and wife Jordan of Omaha, NE, sister; Katlin Allton of Smolan, and grandparents; Barbara and Bill Thomas of Mankato, KS.
Wade had an associate’s degree from Salina Vo-Tech in diesel mechanics. He attended Dodge City Community College in fire science where he received his national certification from Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute in Fire Fighter 1 and Hazardous Materials Operations.
After graduating from Salina Vo-Tech, Wade started with Lang Diesel in Dodge City as a diesel field tech. He transferred to Lang Diesel in Salina Kansas in January 2015 to be closer to his son. One month ago Wade started with Prairie Land in McPherson Kansas as a diesel shop mechanic.
Wade started riding bareback broncs in high school and was part of the National High School Rodeo Association. After high school Wade received a full ride scholarship to Dodge City Community College and competed with the rodeo team.
Wade’s biggest hobby was tinkering and fixing the unfixable. He would often be found on the weekends fixing and riding anything with a motor with his friends.
Ever since he was little he was an avid animal lover and owned many animals from chickens, sheep, cattle, and horses. Wade is survived by his dog Jake. Growing up he was an active member of the Smoky View 4-H club of the Central Kansas District for 11 years where he enjoyed showing his animals. He could often be found helping out his dad at the fair with fair board duties.
In his younger years he would often spend several weeks of his summers “Trucking” with his grandpa.
Wade started playing the Bass Guitar in the Middle School band, continuing this with the Jazz Band and the High School Band.
In his free time he enjoyed playing the acoustic guitar and if you were lucky you could sneak a listen.
He met his high school sweetheart, Katie, in 2008. They became parents on September 20th 2014 as they welcomed their son, Lucas Wyatt, into the world. Wade was a very devoted father and loved spending time with his son Lucas. Lucas loves animals and big trucks and has all the signs of being mechanically inclined just like his daddy.
Wade had a smile that could brighten anyone’s day and was a good friend to everyone. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it.
He will be greatly missed by all!
