Obituary of Douglas Allen Loder

Douglas Loder, 72, passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016. He was born April 15, 1944 to Leslie and Vada (Hendershot) Loder in Little River. He first married Sheryl (Hopp) Loder in 1964, and later Doug married Leslie Bowen in 2004.
Survivors: wife, Leslie; children, Monte Loder (Julie), Darrel Loder (Mari), Terri McBride (Wayne), and Brett Douglas Loder (Lauri) all of Marquette, Andi Loder (Barry Day) of Guide Rock, Neb., Douglas Loder II of Graham, Texas; stepchildren, Jeremy Hopkins (Angela) of Salina, Emily DeRocco (Steven) of Ashburn, Va.; 21 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce Loder (Linda) of Brookville; sister, Teresa Arnhold (Ken) of Ellsworth; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: son, Jon Ryan Loder; parents; sister, Connie Lawrence; and stepfather, Willard Carlson.
Doug was an entrepreneur and self-employed contractor. He was a life-long resident of rural Langley. Doug was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a staunch conservative and proud member of the National Rifle Association.
Doug was a proud father and grandfather and was active in his grandchildren's lives. He enjoyed watching them in sports, school activities, and programs; attending every event he possibly could. He was a member of the undefeated Marquette High School football team for two years. One year they were unscored against and inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame.
Friends and family will gather 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Marquette United Methodist Church. The family will hold a private scattering of the ashes at his farm on a later date.
Memorials may go to the Marquette Wolverines Booster Club Fund in Care of Christians Funeral Home.
