Linda Beth Dahlsten Peck, 68, of Lindsborg, KS died August 30, 2016. Linda was born October 28, 1947 in New York, New York to Lambert and Edna Dahlsten. After a few years the family settled in Lindsborg where Linda attended school and embraced her heritage by joining the first Swedish folk dancers group, graduating in 1965. Growing up, Linda learned to play the piano and violin. At the age of 14, following in her parents footsteps she was chosen to play the violin for the Messiah Festival of Arts. She advanced her education in music at Bethany College graduating in 1969, with a year abroad at the University of Stockholm. She became a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church and supported Bethany College and the local arts. She cherished her Swedish Heritage and traditions always curious and investigating her genealogy. While at Bethany College, in 1970, she met and married Grant Peck. They moved to Raton, NM where Grant taught art, and they welcomed their eldest daughter, Erika Raye. They later moved to White Bear Lake, MN where they enjoyed sailboating, camping, and grilling out. Linda also enjoyed baking, canning, and making preserve. In 1977, their youngest daughter, Jessica Anne was born. In 1979, Linda and her girls moved back to Lindsborg. There she began a career as Purchasing Agent and after 20 years of service retired from Great Plains Manufacturing. Linda enjoyed books, puzzles, crocheting and art as hobbies along with part time jobs around the community in her spare time. Last fall Linda began complaining of hip pain and after falling in mid-August, a scan showed cancer. Everyone was shocked, as Linda's health quickly deteriorated, on August 22 she moved into Bethany Home living out her final days being cared for by staff and by Hospice. She peacefully passed away surrounded by family and close friends Linda is preceded in death by Lambert and Edna (Swenson) Dahlsten. She is survived by her daughters Erika Grace-Saunders, of White Bear Lake, MN, and Jessica Peck, of Lincoln, KS. Grandchildren Alex Grace, Mallory Grace (Zachary Wiseman); with great-grandson, Nemo Aristotle Wiseman, Benjamin and Erik Saunders, Kaylin, Annika, Whitley, Marteina, Clara, and Jake McElroy. A Memorial Services will be held Friday, September 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lindsborg, KS. Private burial will be held prior to the Memorial Service at Freemount Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church, as this was a central part of Linda's life, in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington St. Lindsborg, KS 67456.
