Donald Paul Ferguson was born September 14, 1920 at Westmoreland Kansas to Frank H and Ethel Misamore Ferguson. He passed away May 15, 2016 at Riverview Estates, Marquette.
He moved with his parents and siblings to rural Lindsborg, Kansas in 1928.
He was united in marriage to Ellen Marie Larson on October 20, 1950 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Lindsborg, Kansas.
They farmed in the Freemount Community until retirement when they moved to Lindsborg in September 1988. He has been a resident of Riverview Estates in Marquette since 2014.
Don attended Harper District Grade School and Marquette High School graduating in 1939. He served in the United States Army in WWII, spending 2 ½ years in the South Pacific.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Marquette American Legion (70 plus years), Kansas Livestock Association, National Cattleman’s Association, and the Kansas & American Farm Bureau Association.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ellen Marie, siblings George Ferguson, Doris Ferguson Schad, and Marjorie Ferguson Ericson.
He is survived by his son David Lee Ferguson, sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Moore, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. with family present from 5-7pm Friday, May 20, at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.
Burial will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, May 21, at Freemount Lutheran Cemetery, Lindsborg, with a Memorial Service following at 2:00pm at Bethany Lutheran Church, Lindsborg.
Memorials may be designated to Bethany Lutheran Church or Riverview Estates in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
