We wish you the love and support at this time that cannot be measured, because that is what Marty gave to us all the years we knew her. She was a miracle worker, just said it like it was and tirelessly and selflessly helped others. We had so many laughs, beautiful memories of jerry falling asleep after a Thanksgiving meal (she never let him forget that) and family talks. She MADE the News-record... But, she loved her family most. And, boy, could she set us straight if we needed it.. What a one of s kind person we were so lucky to know her. Our sympathy to you all... Memories of Marty brings a smile to my face. She touched my life in so many ways- at the News-Record, in church, at Bethany Home. She was her own person who lived her life exactly how she wanted to live it.

Marty was as feisty a few months ago when she decided to take a stroll through town and I tried to help her back home as she was the first day I met her in 1997. Always a pleasure to be around. You will be missed.

My heart is saddened at the passing of my friend Marty. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to know her during my ministry with the Lindsborg UMC. Marty and I had many opportunities to share stories, coffee, chocolate, and laughter. I will always treasure the memories I have of her.
I pray that the Lord will comfort all of you, her family and friends, who are grieving Marty's

Marty was one of the all-time greats of journalism and a pillar of Lindsborg. Never afraid to tell it like it was, she gave all of us food for thought on subjects both local and national. She inspired many of us to carry on in the same vein, and she will be sorely missed. My thoughts are with her friends and family.
