Norwin C. Kohls, 75, of Cottonwood, Ariz., passed away Oct. 13, 2015, at home. He was born May 11, 1940, in Lincoln County, Kan. to Selma and Reinhard Kohls. He attended Ellsworth High School and graduated from Fort Hays State College with a BA in mathematics and science. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict. Through his service he was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with Valor, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Elda Pistora and Lois Seitz; and brother, Orville Kohls. Norwin was ex-husband to Joyce Marsh and father to Kimberly Ann Uecker and Jody Lare White, brother to Della (Marvin) Billings, of Topeka, Kan., Leoria Kohls, of Wichita, Kan., Deniece (Bill) Roth, of Lindsborg, Kan., Nina Borgstader, of Ellsworth, Kan., and Rolland Kohls, of Jacksonville, Fla. He was a grandfather of five: August Uecker, Sophie Uecker, Grace White, Scarlett White and Kingsley White, ex-husband to Deena Kohls and stepfather to, Jared Serbu and Aaron Serbu. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg, Kan., with burial following at 2 p.m. at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery, Ellsworth.
