Obituary
Obituary of William Allen Ellis
Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William “Bill” Allen Ellis, 66, of Lindsborg, was granted his angel wings on August 3th 2015. In his final days his family gathered together for him with their love & laughter, exactly the way he wanted it! Those who knew him know what his family, family time & family memories meant to him. We often had Sunday family days, with food, great laughter, noisy grandchildren, endless conversation & a game or two of poker followed by a "community nap"! Just like Bill, his family looks forward to the comforting days of holidays & family time. We were once accused of having parties every Sunday afternoon by those who would drive by the North Main Street house, but all those cars were just his children & grandchildren gathering for our weekly family fulfillment.
Bill was born November 24, 1948, the son of Floyd Eugene and ElDora (Lockhart) Ellis in Hawthorne, CA.
On April 4, 1971, Bill was united in marriage to Janis Scott in Roxbury, KS.
Jan was his best friend & the love of his life. To all his children they had a love & connection that was immeasurable and a marriage that is near impossible to mimic. Bill & Jan resided in the Lindsborg community for 44 years. Bill was a long time Lions club member and also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Lindsborg.
Bill was a dedicated employee with the work ethic that every employer would hope for. In January of 2015 he retired from Certain-Teed in McPherson, KS after 38 years.
Other enjoyments besides his family time was watching some Chiefs football, any game of baseball, and playing some golf with his sons. Bill was a KC Royals fan and he found enjoyment in rocking in his chair next to his wife while watching the Royals play on TV followed by the replays of the games. Bill was sure to not be too busy this past Sunday to miss the noon game in the hospital, then the replay! There is no doubt that Bill is an angel in the outfield at each Royals game now!
Bill leaves behind many loved ones including his wife, Janis Ellis, and mother, ElDora Busby both of Lindsborg, sons: Chad Ellis of Galva, Chase Ellis, Chandler “Chip” Ellis (Carrie), daughters: Chelsea Ellis (Erick Taskinen), Jaron Watkins (Brandon), and brothers: Jere Ellis (Judy) all of Lindsborg, Randall Ellis (Kaye) of McPherson, and his beloved grandchildren, Aubrie Ellis, Jake and Kirah Taskinen, Harly, Chantz & Gage Watkins, Logann and Kaylyn Stambaugh, and Makenah Godwin all of Lindsborg.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Ellis, step-father, Foster
Busby, and brother, Eldon Ellis.
