Gabriel Al-Salem, 43, of Almaty, Kazakhstan, passed away November 27, 2010, as a result of a paragliding accident in the mountains of Almaty.
Gabriel was born February 1, 1967, the son of Bader Al-Salem and Margarete Dorsch, in Oakland, California.
Gabriel was a long time Lindsborg resident, and worked many years overseas for various international development organizations.
On May 23, 1992, he married Viktoria Olskaia at Coronado Heights in Lindsborg.
Gabriel is survived by his wife, Viktoria, and their daughter Anya of the home, father, Bader Al-Salem of Kuwait, and mother, Margarete Dorsch of Lindsborg.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Lindsborg, KS. Burial will be held at Smoky Hill Cemetery, Lindsborg, KS.
Memorials may be designated for the Smoky Valley High School Music and Theatre Programs in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N Washington Street P. O. Box 386 Lindsborg, KS.
There will be no visitation.
