Myrl E. Swanson, 66, of Smolan, died October 6, 2010. Mr. Swanson was born April 9, 1944, the son of Malburn and Victoria (Nelson) Swanson in Lindsborg, KS. He was a lifetime area resident, and worked as a manufacturing engineer for Beech Aircraft for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an active member of Salemsborg Lutheran Church, and served on the Salemsborg Lutheran Church Cemetery Board. On September 23, 1978, he married Fairlene Oliver at Messiah Lutheran Church, Lindsborg, Kansas, she survives. Myrl is survived by his wife, Fairlene of the home; son, Gregg of Abilene; daughters, Wendy Swanson of Reno, NV, Dyane and husband Josh Meadows of Reno, NV; sisters, Geraldine Parks of Midland, TX, Gayle and husband Bill Rairden of Salina; grandchildren, Gabriel Meadows, Brandon Swanson, Madison Swanson, Courtney Quintana, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, at Salemsborg Lutheran Church, Smolan, KS. Burial will be held at Salemsborg Lutheran Church Cemetery, Smolan, KS. Memorials may be given to Salemsborg Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N Washington Street P. O. Box 386 Lindsborg, KS. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm with family present from 6-7 pm. Sunday at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg. Online condolences at www.christiansfuneralhome.com
