C.L. (LaVerne) Peterson, 94, of Lindsborg, died August 31, 2010. He was born September 28, 1915, the son of Oscar Carl and Hilma (Bentson) Peterson, in New Gottland, Kansas. C.L. was a Lindsborg resident since 2002, moving from McPherson. He was a farmer, and an active member of the New Gottland Covenant Church. On May 26, 1946, he married Edna Mae Russell at McPherson, Kansas, she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, infant brother, Edward, and granddaughter Kristina Peterson. Survivors include wife, Edna Mae Peterson of the home, son, John and wife Gretchen Peterson of Lindsborg, daughters, Ruby and husband Lee Buller of Newton, Shirley and husband Jim Martin of Topeka, sister, Mary Peterson of McPherson, and grandchildren, Erik and wife Amanda Peterson, Sara Buller, Daniel Buller, Abbey and husband Austin Horner, and Ben Martin. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at New Gottland Covenant Church. Burial will be held at McPherson City Cemetery. Memorials may be designated for New Gottland Covenant Church or Bethany Home Nurse Fund in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N Washington Street P. O. Box 386 Lindsborg, KS. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Thursday with family receiving friends from 5-7p.m. at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg. Online condolences at www.christiansfuneralhome.com
