Obituary of Lester Johnson

Lester Emery Johnson, 92, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015. He was born Jan. 15, 1923 to Ted and Elsie Johnson in rural Assaria.
Lester married Letha Ione Akers on Jan. 23, 1946 and the couple lived sixty-five years on their farm near Bridgeport before moving into Lindsborg in 2011.
He was active in the Assaria Lutheran Church, the Tri-Rivers Fair Board and Beef Show, and the Friendly Valley 4-H Club.
Preceded in death by: his parents, brother Dickie Johnson, sisters Aletha Adams, Wanda Cowart, Della Johnson, and brother-in-law, Leland Akers.
Survivors include his wife Ione; two sons Larry (Pamela) Johnson, Brooklyn, Wisc., Loren (Cholly) Johnson, Assaria, daughters; Linda (Verne) Hubalek, Lindsborg, Loretta (Joel) Mayfield, Springfield, Virg., brother Clayton Johnson, Bridgeport, sister-in-law Anita Johnson, Lindsborg, three grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren and one step great-great grandson.
Visitation will be 4-7 pm Tues. April 7th at the Christians Funeral Home in Lindsborg. The family will be present from 6-7 pm.
Funeral service and interment will be Wed. April 8th at 1:30 pm at the Assaria Lutheran Church, Assaria.
