Meta Ellwood, 98, was born July 15, 1916 in Marquette, Kansas, the daughter of Frederick and Esther Weihermiller. She passed away March 21, 2015, at the home of her son in Marquette.
June 24, 1941 she married Austin M. Ellwood in Marquette. Meta was a homemaker and a lifetime member of Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin, parents, sisters; Francis Woodland and Jeannette Dressler, and brother, Kenneth Weihermiller.
Survivors include son, Miles and wife Mary of Marquette; daughter, Jan and husband Gary Schoshke of Brookville; five grandchildren: Mieke and husband Tim Hoeffner, Salina; Jeannette Ellwood, Chad Ellwoood, Marquette; Matt Schoshke, Tescott; and Layne Schoshke, Brookville.
There will no visitation. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette.
Memorials may be designated to the church or Marquette Library in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
