Verle Buffington, 91, rural Marquette, passed away October 2, 2014. He was born January 30, 1923, son of M.E. and Ada (Allison) Buffington.
He passed away in the same house on the family farm in which he was born.
He attended Venango grade school near the present location of Kanopolis Lake and graduated from Marquette High School in 1941. He attended KSU and returned to the family farm where he spent the rest of his life as a farmer/stockman.
On December 16, 1950, he married Gloria Lindh at Marquette. They were married 62 years before she passed away in 2013.
He was preceded in death by wife Gloria, daughter Deborah, son Dennis, sisters; Alma Reed, and Elma Buffington.
He is survived by son Tom, Marquette, daughter Jeri Lou (Ernst) Hintz, Kirksville, MO., four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service and inurnment will follow at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Ellsworth County Historical Society.
