Lola "Vickie" Matilda Everhart, 92, of Lindsborg, passed away February 15, 2014.
She was born June 6, 1921, the daughter of Charlie and Ona (McClure) Downey in Hugoton, KS.
On June 16, 1954, Vickie was united in marriage to Gerald "Red" Everhart in Bentonville, AR.
She was a nurses' aide for many years at the White Cross Nursing Home, and also worked at the bakery in Lindsborg.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorraine Cordingly, two brothers: Jesse R. Downey and Levi C. Downey, a great-grandson, James "Buddy" Bryant, and a great-granddaughter, Zena Taylor.
Vickie leaves behind many loved ones including her husband, Gerald "Red"; daughter, Betty Jo Alexander (Don) of South Hutchinson, KS, ten grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 33 great-great-grandchildren and her sister, Imogene Perego.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 19, from 4-7 pm with family present from 6-7 pm at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, February 20, at Christians Funeral Home Chapel, Lindsborg, with burial following at Canton Cemetery, Canton, KS.
Memorials may be designated Bethany Home or Harden Hospice in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington, PO Box 386, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
