John Heter, 69, Lindsborg, passed away September 5, 2013. He was born August 14, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa to Marvin and Marjorie Boyle Heter. John graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School, before serving four years in the Navy. John then moved to Lindsborg, Kansas, where he attended Bethany College.
He spent the majority of his adult life employed by MCDS until his retirement in 2006. His true passion was art, both collecting and creating. Whether it was painting, drawing, or building guitars, everything that came his way was calibrated until it became a fascinating piece of art.
John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Jonathan Heter, Lawrence, brothers: Tom (Jean) Heter, Garland, David (Marie) Heter, Lee's Summit, MO, Charles Heter, Roeland Park, Steve Heter, Alta Vista and a sister Gracie Luce Heter, Indian Rocks Beach, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg.
Memorial may be designated for the family in care of Jonathan Heter at Christians Funeral Home, 103 N Washington, Lindsborg, KS 67456.
There will be no visitation.
