Margaret Berg, daughter of Edward and Esther (Nelson) Swenson was born August 24, 1912 in rural Harper Township, McPherson County. To this union a son, James and a daughter, Joan (Leighty) were born. In 1958, after farming, she and her family moved to Lindsborg, Kansas, joining Bethany Lutheran Church. Margaret was loved by her family and friends and was a devoted wife to her husband, mother to her children and love of her grandchildren. While employed at the Lindsborg Community Hospital as a nurses' aide, she was often in charge of the nursery, inspiring the new mothers and babies, but also was skilled in encouraging patients of all ages while working on the floor. She also had a great sense of humor and helped create a lot of laughter and fun in her home.
