Norma Katherine (Heimer) Swenson, 88, of Assaria passed away May 5, 2013, at Bethany Home, Lindsborg. She was born August 11, 1924, in Salina, to Hjalmer and Edna (Lindblad) Heimer and married Lebert A. Swenson on April 15, 1946. Norma was a farmer's wife, worked at Bethany Home over 30 years, and was a member of the Assaria Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lebert, brother, Ralph Heimer, and sisters: Eunice Larson and Lois Hanson. Norma is survived by her son, Kenner Swenson (Janice) of Assaria, daughter, Toni Schlabach (Vern) of Lindsborg, grandchildren: Karna Morris (Justin) of Sterling, Scott Swenson (Brandi) of Lindsborg, Michael Schlabach (Jodi) of Aloha, OR, Jason Schlabach (Julie) of Lenexa, Eric Schlabach (Stacy) of Willis, TX, 6 great-grandchildren, and sister, Marjorie Coffman of Denver, CO. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, from 4-7 pm with family present from 6-7pm at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, May 8, at Assaria Lutheran Church, with burial following at Assaria Lutheran Church Cemetery.
