Helen D. "Boots" Polk, 96, of Lindsborg, passed away April 28, 2013. She was born August 20, 1916, the daughter of William and Anna (Ritter) Darnauer in Hebron, NE, raised in Goodland, KS, and lived in southern California for most of her adult life. Helen was united in marriage to James Wm. "Bill" Polk on August, 31, 1945, in Westfield, IL. Bill passed away March 22, 2004, in Port Hueneme, CA. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Helen leaves behind many loved ones including daughters: Lindy Nelson (Ken) of Lindsborg, Kate Ryan of Augusta, GA, Marianne Romo (Rich) of Oxnard, CA, six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, at Bethany Home Chapel, Lindsborg. Memorials may be designated for Bethany Home in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N.
