Obituary of W. LaVerne Tolle

W. LaVerne Tolle, 81, of Roxbury, passed away April 12, 2013. He was born July 1, 1931, the son of George and Delia (Anderson) Tolle on the family farm in Roxbury, KS. He worked as a farmer, and was employed by White Hawk Oil Field and Certainteed. LaVerne was united in marriage on June 4, 1950, to Mildred "Peggy" Reese. She passed away October 4, 1990. On March 7, 1992, LaVerne married Elfie Alice Bowen Messenger. She passed away June 9, 2009. He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry LaVerne Tolle, and sisters: Rosalyn Florine and Marilyn Sales. LaVerne leaves behind many loved ones, including son, Jay Tolle (Roxanne) of Salina, daughters: Nancy Westblade (Willard) of Evergreen, CO, Sharla Biegert (Randy) of Lindsborg, Kayla Johnson (Lee) of Galva, LeAnna DeWitt (Tom) of Lindsborg, foster-daughters: Valarie Downs (Don) of Inman and Jewel Whiteley (Steven) of Salina, step-sons: Myron Messenger (Sheryl) of McPherson, and Roger Messenger (Barbara) of Moundridge, brothers: Galen Tolle of Roxbury, and Roland Tolle (Ardyth) of Buhler, sister, Lucille Becker (Don) of Longmont, CO, grandchildren: Heather Lestikow, Heide Winckler(Adam), Micah Westblade(Danni Bosher), Jason Biegert, Ryan Biegert (Nicole), Darrin Biegert, Thomas DeWitt, John DeWitt, Stephen DeWitt, Carley Tolle, Kelly Tolle, Ed Downs (Rachel), Austin Whiteley, Jonathan Whiteley; step-grandchildren: Steven Messenger(Brenda), Mark Messenger, Shari Weisbeck(Uriah), Stephanie Thiessen(Terry); great-grandchildren: Peggy Lestikow, Christopher Lestikow, Evan Winckler, Rylynn Biegert, Emily Shaffer, Lauren Shaffer, Kasun Downs; and step-great-grandchildren: Ava Weisbeck, Carly Weisbeck, Chelsea Base, Parker Base, and Dylan Thiessen. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 16, from 4-7 pm with family present from 5-7pm at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 17, at Roxbury United Parish. Private family burial will be held at Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury.
