Obituary of Jeannie Holwerda

Jeannie (Twila Jean) Holwerda, 79, of Lindsborg, passed away in her home, March 3, 2013. She was born November 15, 1933, the daughter of Arthur L. and Iva L. (Smith) White in Gypsum, KS. Jeannie was united in marriage to Willis Holwerda, and from this union came a son, William Gregory, and two daughters, Betty and Jane. Willis died in Nunn, Colorado, in 2011. A career nurse, Jeannie worked as an LPN instructor, a director of nursing at Bethany Home and various nursing positions at Lindsborg Community Hospital. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a Stephen Minister. She was preceded in death by her son, William Gregory Holwerda, and brother, Derald White. Jeannie is survived by her daughters: Betty Nelson and husband Jim of Lindsborg, Jane Holwerda of Dodge City, brother, Earl White of Lindsborg, and sister, Marie Walderich of Atlanta, Georgia. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6, from 4-8p.m.with family present from 7-8 p.m. at Christians Funeral Home, Lindsborg. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30am Thursday, March 7, at Bethany Lutheran Church, with burial following at Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.
