Carl B Anderson, Jr., 66, of Lindsborg, passed away February 7, 2013. He was born on January 12, 1947, in Lindsborg, KS as the fourth son of Carl B. Anderson, Sr. and Mildred Holmstrom Anderson. They had four sons: Dr. Richard Anderson, Dr. Ralph Anderson, James M. Anderson, and Carl B Anderson, Jr., J.D. B graduated from Lindsborg Rural High School in 1964 and from Bethany College in 1968, where he earned a B.A. in business economics. He earned a J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1971. On June 29, 1969, he and Rebecca Suzanne Larson were married at Messiah Lutheran Church, Lindsborg. He and Becky have two children, Michael Eric Anderson and Megan Erin Anderson Willich (Jarrod). B is survived by family, which includes grandchildren, Jaron Brown (Michael) and Beckett and Kaisa Willich (Megan and Jarrod); two brothers, Dr. Richard Anderson (Marylen) and Dr. Ralph Anderson (Jan); mother-in-law, LaVerne Larson; brothers-in-law, David Larson and Bill Larson (Ann); and many nieces, nephews and their families. His parents, Carl B. and Mildred, his brother, James Anderson, and his father-in-law, Gene L. Larson, preceded him in death. Following graduation from the University of Kansas, B was admitted to the Kansas Bar Association in 1971. His first position in employment as a J.D. was in private practice as an attorney in Sublette, Kansas between 1971-1975. During this time, he also served as Haskell County Attorney. In 1975, B opened a private practice in Lindsborg, KS. In 1976, he was elected to the Kansas Ninth Judicial District Court, where he also served as the Administrative Chief Judge for 10 years. B served as a sitting and administrative judge for 36 years until his retirement in January 2013. B was a lifelong diabetic although he persevered through his dedication to his family and his work throughout his life. He was a sports enthusiast, having participated in baseball, tennis and golf and as a Babe Ruth coach. He faithfully followed the Bethany College Swedes, the Kansas Jayhawks, and the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. B enjoyed the outdoors throughout his life and loved to spend time with his family and friends at a family cabin in Colorado. He loved his family and his friends and will be remembered for his intellect, kindness, integrity, humility and his absolute admiration and reverence for the Law as a profession. B was a lifelong member of Messiah Lutheran Church where he served as president of the church council and was a member of the Kansas Bar Association. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, February 12, at 2:00 PM at Messiah Lutheran Church, Lindsborg. There will be no visitation.
