Louise M. Johnson, 88, of Marquette, passed away January 25, 2013.
She was born April, 10, 1924, the daughter of Peter and Lydia (Ruthe) Ochs in Hoisington, KS.
Louise was united in marriage to Ernest "Junie" Johnson on August 9, 1950, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Lindsborg. She attended and graduated from Bethany College, and was a teacher in various schools for several years.
She owned and operated City Sundries for many years. lLouise was one of the founders of the Marquette Community Library in 1964, serving on the Library Board for many years. She was also a member of the Marquette Women's Literary Club for over 50 years, a member of Marquette Moderns, and a member of Elim Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Church Sunday School and women's group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Tillman, Vernon, Nathan, and Martin Ochs, and Calista Moore.
Louise is survived by her husband, Junie of Marquette, sons: Scott Johnson and wife Linda of Marquette, Dixon Johnson of Marquette, daughter, Dr. Lisa Johnson of Mountain View, MO, and grandchildren, Chris and Sarah Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette, on Monday, January 28.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette, with burial following at Marquette Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be designated for Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette Community Library, or Riverview Estates in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N Washington Street P. O. Box 386 Lindsborg, KS.
